Yorba
Safety Concepts has conducted
extensive helmet research and
testing in order to calibrate
the various Shok-SpotR™
types for use in the sport
of your choice. Since no industry
standard yet exists for helmet
impact sensors, our engineers
have drawn on the test methods
of, and developed test criteria
from, the following helmet
test standards:
Federal
Motor Vehicle Safety Standard
No. 218
Snell M2000
ASTM F2040
EN 1077
NOCSAE DOC (ND) 030-04m404
Snell S-98 and RS-98
Impacts
from every angle have been
investigated on every helmet
type for which we currently
offer a Shok-SpotR™.
The calibrations do differ
from one sport to the next.
This is due to differences
in the sports themselves, the
type of impacts most often
suffered, and to the various
helmet construction types applied
from sport to sport. For this
reason, it is important to
apply a Shok-SpotR™ only
to the helmet and sport type
for which it is intended. If
you have any doubts, give us
a call or e-mail the technical
help line on the Contacts page.
